Phantom Projects Theatre Group at La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts
is seeking Assistant Stage Management Interns for the second show in the season, The Giver, based on the popular novel by Lois Lowry. Rehearsals begin early January, 2017. There are only 3 performances, in one day, on February 16th, 2017 at 10AM, 1PM, and 7PM.

Academic Credit available. $75 Gas Stipend Provided.

Interviews will take place in December, 2016 at our offices in La Mirada.



THE SCHEDULE:

Scheduling is flexible during rehearsals earlier in the process, but will increase as we get closer to the performances. First rehearsal, tech week and performance availability is required. Otherwise, we’re willing to work with your schedule, or split responsibilities between multiple interns.

Auditions December 2016
First Rehearsal: January, 2017
Rehearsals: 4 days per week, evenings and/or weekend days
Load-in: February 15, 2017 (all day and night)
Performances: February 16, 2017 (10AM, 1PM, and 7PM performances)
Restore: February 23-25, 2015 (One day only)


ABOUT THE JOB:
Ideal candidates will be interested in pursuing a career in stage management/technical theatre. Candidate should be punctual and willing to tackle a variety of tasks with precision, a positive attitude, and a sense of humor. Some experience with wardrobe and props is ideal, but not required.

Responsibilities for Stage Management Interns include assisting with costumes and props (including shopping and/or picking up rented items) assisting the stage manager in setting up, cleaning and maintaining the rehearsal studio. Running errands, coordinating with designers, director and stage manager, overseeing and supervising the running crew. Setting up back stage wings and prop tables. Must have some stage management experience. All shows are rehearsed/performed in La Mirada.

MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS (INTERN POSITION):

Phantom Projects Theatre Group at La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts is seeking enthusiastic interns for our Marketing and Communications functions.

Interviews are ongoing.

There is no pay. School credit, if available.

ABOUT THE JOB:
*Assist in the execution of outreach efforts to media, city and professional organizations.
*Assist with branding
*Stream-line and maintain existing contact database of marketing targets.
*Provide Artistic Director with potential, show specific marketing targets.
*Post event notices on community calendars.
*Assist with developing marketing campaigns for membership, performances, events and programs.
*Propose and execute postings on social media sites.
*Coordinate and execute collateral distribution.
*Propose methods for enhancing marketing and social media results.
*Pitch stories to press and media.
*Other assignments as appropriately assigned by Artistic Director.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate must believe in the core values of the nonprofit organization and forwarding its mission. He/she must demonstrate an ability to apply his/her marketing stills with minimalsupervision on or off site. Self-starter. Excellent communication and writing skills. Good research and problem solving skills. Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and social media platforms. Professionalism, candor, grace and a sense of humor under pressure.

COSTUME DEPARTMENT (INTERN POSITION):

La Mirada, CA-Phantom Projects Theatre Group at La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts is seeking Interns (Non-Union) for the second show in our the 2016/17 season, THE GIVER, based on the popular novel by Lois Lowery. There are only 3 performances, in one day, on February 16, 2017 at 10AM, 1PM and 7PM.

Academic Credit available. $50 Gas Stipend Provided. Reports to the Costume Designer.

Interviews will be ongoing, at our offices in La Mirada. The position will close when the right candidate(s) is/are found.

ABOUT THE JOB
Responsibilities for Costume Interns include assisting with construction, alteration, pulling, organizing and cleaning of costumes. Interns act as running crew, maintaining wardrobe during the three performances. Must have basic theatrical sewing skills.

Personal vehicles are required for some and suggested for all.
